Space in the Z direction

  1. Dave,

The comparison you are making really helped me (as a reader) to understand what you are saying. This seems like a really great method to observe and find out something that could benefit your thesis. Both the exterior and interior have similar X and Y planes. It is the "Z" plane that stands out as different and problematic in the interior space. The "fluffiness" of the tree adds texture, life, movement and height to the exterior setting. I am trying to think, how can an interior setting duplicate this element?

  2. I agree with Angie; the exterior 'z' space and the interior 'z' space seem different to me. Which do you like better? Are high ceilings the only way to mimic the outdoor 'z' space indoors?
